The Big Move

After years of ruminating quarterly about moving home to New Jersey, I made a decision in early October to take the plunge, to close my eyes and dive in; to seize the day. Within a month’s time, with the help of my awesome brother and the prayers of many, I had planned and executed the 1,860-mile cross-country move.
Moving from Colorado was bittersweet. I’d lived in the great state for the better part of 20 years, from college & beyond, and I have wonderful friends there who I didn’t want to leave. Countless flights between Colorado and NJ later, I decided it was time to land on the East Coast more permanently.
There were plenty of reasons for the big move, not the least of which was to live closer to family. I also wanted to keep growing and stretching myself and felt like a geographic change could be a good catalyst for that. It’s easy to get comfortable where we are, and I think there’s value in shaking things up—whether we are ready or not. Most often, I don’t think we’re ready. I certainly didn’t feel ready to make such a giant change. But, here I am!
